Petrouschka was visually first class. The inspired company acted good in this folcloristic kind of ballet, and surrounded the three main roles, Petrouschka brilliant performed by Vladimir DEREVIANKO, the Ballerina and the Moor were splendid. Their energy lifted it all, and there were some very good solo parts, such as the drunk russian boys, with great jumps, and the two gipsy wimen with the old man. The scenography reminds of old days, and that is the meaning. - PETROUCHKA. Stravinsky is in this music at his very best, describing the many moods in the history, it is a very cloose following up ballet music. PETROUCHKA Should perhaps have been the finale!!!!! Then the audience is leaving with a great memory.

Chopiniana - The leading male dancer, spite in that he was a famous name, is to old and to heavy, he has elegant footwork, but it is not any longer convincing. Two young female soloists were good.

Polovetcerdances. The male dancer was also too heavy. They should give the young dancers a chance to step in to leading roles, in stead of using these anticvityes. Ilze Liepa is OK, but I dont understand why they should add an opening solo for her, when the Polovetserdances were annonunced. Her solo is not, to my knowledge, one of the Polovetserdances. But the young female dancer in the leading role was much better, and brilliant.
