As allways, it is like a fairytale to open the season program for the Opera National de Paris and the Ballet in the two houses Opera Bastille and Palais Garnier.
The Autumn Opera season opens with a new production of Gounods opera, Mireille 14.September, closely followed by Wozzeck, The Barber from Sevilla. Then a new Die Tote Stadt by Eric Korngold 3. October, followed by the brilliant L Elisir d Amor by Rossini, a co production with Covent Garden, the best Elisir I have seen up to now. see Photos.

Then La Boheme, Salome, Rameaus Platee at Opera Garnier. A new production of Andrea Chenier by Giordano, premiered 3th December. Then a new production of Werther by Massanet 14.January 2010. Idomeneo, followed by a new La Sonnambula by Bellini 25th January.
Verdis Don Carlo is back in February. Followed by a premiere of The Rheingold, the first of two new The Ring productions this year. A new Faust composed in 2007 by the composer Philippe Fenelon, born 1952 will be premiered at Palais Garnier 17th March. Brittens Billy Budd is folowing closely after. Then Hoffmanns Tailes. The second of the two new The Ring productins is The Valkyrie, premiere 31th May. Premiere of Rossinis Donna del Largo 14. June, and finishing the season withseason premiere of The Little Funny Fox, La Petite Renard Rusee, by Janacek 25th June.
EXHIBITIONS
The opera programme on the two stages are been followed up by exhibitions with themes about Gounod in September and October at Garnier, and Eric Korngold at Bastille in October November. And a Homage a Regine Crespin, the great singer in March to September 2010. At Garnier the 100 years jubilee of Dhiaghilevs Ballet Russe will be celebrated with a jubilee exhibition November 2009 to April 2010.
