The Festival SINFONIA EN PERIGORD is this year celebrating its 20 YEARS anniversary. 26th to 29th August 2010.

This festival is famous for its wide choise of Baroque music, and is a well known meeting place for lowers of Baroque music.  This year presenting, among many others:

Les Vêspres a la Vierge (1610) – by Claudio Monteverdi, with La Fenice – conducted by Jean Tubéry.

Le Dialogue Amoureux –with  BARCAROLE Ensemble, with Agnès Mellon, soprano and  artistique leader
. and the counter-tenor Dominique Visse.

Messe en si moll – by Johann Sebastian Bach, with Collegium Vocale 1704, directed by Václav Luks.

Celine Frisch  – Clavecin, is presenting Suites by Jean Philippe Rameau, with the titel “A French Master”.

For the Operalovers:

LA CORONAZiONE Di POPPEA – Claudio Monteverdi performed by La Venexiana, conducted by Claudio Cavina,  With Emanuela Galli in the titelrole together with an interesting cast.

Late Saturday evening  “Sin – FOLLIA”. A Renaissance Cabaret – La Dive Bouteille . With the musicians, actors and dancers from the Doulce Mémoire ensemble.

BACH: Sonates for Viola da Gamba and Clavecin, performed by Emmannuelle Guigues, Viola de Gamba
 Bruno Procopio, Clavecin, at the Chateau de Bourdeilles.

Giovani Baptisti Pergolese: CANTATES DA CAMERA, with the Ensemble Rosasolis & Magali Leger, soprano , at the Brantôme-Monastery.

The concerts are being performed in beautiful surroundings such as: The Monasteries of Chancelade,  and Brantôme, the Saint Etienne Churc which is the Cathedral of Peérigueux, theh. In the Castles of Bourdeilles and Izards, Coulounieix.  All in and around the old Medieval City, Vesunna, which with more than 39 monuments registered in this 2000 years old city is classified as “Monuments Historiques”

 Winter entertainments:

This Festival, which has its higlighted Festival periode through a few busy summer days every year, are in addition performing during a winter periode, where it from November to March is presenting a Winterprogramme
