Christian Dior called Cristobal Balenciaga the master of us all. The priest-like Balenciaga, whose private life remained a total mystery until the day he died, created day dresses of deceiving simplicity and evening gowns of staggering extravagance, and for them he was paid the highest prices in the couture world.
It started very well with Sonata Appasionata sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven, well performed, a good disposition of the three parts, and this was closely folloved up by the shorter Frederic Chopin piece Lullaby in D flat dur op 57. Also well performed. Review by Henning Høholt.
LUCCA: The Orchestra of the Puccini Festival played really well, putting in evidence timbric preciosities and armonic subtleties. Under Daniel Oren’s skilled baton the singers were able to give their vocal best: Mimi: Maria Agresta, Rodolpe: Stefano Secco. Marcello: Gabriele Viviani, and Alida Berti as Musetta. Review by Fabio Bardelli
“I am so excited about this new campaign for David Beckham Bodywear at H&M. I wanted to express the strength and quality of the David Beckham Bodywear collection with these images, and also wearability and fit. I love the range and feel so comfortable in each of the pieces. As soon as the collection was launched, it became second nature for me to wear it!” says David Beckham.

Anna Shafajinskaia synger tittelrollen.
The name Valentino has been synonymous with high fashion for almost fifty years. Based in Rome, Valentino is only one of two couture houses recognized by the French government outside of Paris. Over time and across cultures, extraordinary manipulations of the body have occurred in a continuing evolution of the concept of beauty. Fashion can be seen as the practice of some of the most extreme strategies to conform to shifting concepts of the physical ideal.

“Sacrifice – OPFER – victim” is the motto which Cecilia Bartoli has inscribed upon her second Whitsun Festival.. The Festival includes Vincenzo Bellinis opera Norma with Cecilia Bartolli in the titelrole, and a star filled programme, also including Igor Stravinsky’s ballet Le Sacre du printemps in a reconstructed original version of Vaslav Nijinsky’s choreography performed by dancers from the Mariinsky Theater St. Petersburg. VILNIUS: KŠIŠTOF MARKEVIČ Piano recital. The concert was great. Good flooding. Some times very virtuose, as f.ex. in the Piano sonata No. 5 by Alexander SCRIABIN, and wonderful some times with very big power at the same time in Fantasy-Sonata “After a Reading of Dante”by Franz Liszt, whch ended the concert. Review by Henning Høholt.
LUCCA: Donata D’Annunzio Lombardi as Madama Butterfly. Pinkerton Leonardo Caimi,. OBS: As Sharpless we saw young Turkish singer, Kartal Karagedik, with an interesting light baritone voice. His voice has a wide range, is vibrating and resonant and he uses it with intelligence. As Sharpless he is very convincing, touching and emotionally involved: his impressing phrasing in duet with Cio-Cio-San in the 2nd Act could be almost a model. Good conducting by Valerio Galli. From Susan Sarandon’s dress at this year’s Oscars (2005), to their best selling books, Dolce & Gabbana’s strong, sensual style is the very incarnation of la dolce vita at the end of the century.
Vintage Art Edition limited to just 500 signed and numbered copies. Each book is bound in an original vintage Pucci fabric and is accompanied by four art prints of original drawings from the designer Emilio Pucci. Each book will be signed by his daughter Laudomia Pucci.. The book is beautiful, but the prize is also followed yp by how the book looks. I have the feeling that the prize level has been put too high, because to get such a prize it must be an extraordinary name behind it. And upon entering the shop at Avenue Matignon, I dont find it on that level yet.
