Rite of Spring- 100 years – Festival at Bolshoi

MOSCOW: In honour of the century anniversary of Igor Stravinsky and Vaslav Nijinsky’s The Rite of Spring, the Bolshoi Theatre is arranging a mini-festival entitled “100 Years Anniversary of the Rite of Spring – 100 Years Anniversary of the New Art”, scheduled for 27 March to 21 April 2013.

Finnish National Ballet’s guesting Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow

HELSINKI: The Finnish National Ballet will give guest performances at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre in the spring of 2013. This is the first time in history that the whole company visits Bolshoi Theatre. The dancers will perform two triple bills from the season’s current repertoire.

STRASBOURG: Soon a New Don Quixote will be premiered at Opera du Rhin in Strasbourg, choreography by Marius Petipa and Rui Lopez Graca, and introducing some music from XVII century up to today in addition to Minkus. PARIS: This years revival is centered around Martina Serafin, which is singing the Tosca role very good. Calin Bratescu is hers tenor, Mario Cavaradossi, he is good as well. Sergey Murazaev is Scarpia, he has the vocal ressources, but I dont find him right for this characteristic role. Review by Tomas Bagackas.
Amazing and Fascinating Vienna Philharmonic in Paris – Like a Dream.

PARIS: The world famouse Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by the outstanding Latvian conducter Andris Nelsons fascinated and amaced the the completely sold out Théatre des Champs Élysées in Paris last night 23. November 2012 with a demanding programme, which included Brahms great Pianoconcerto No 2 with Hélène Grimaud as outstanding soloist in the first half of the concert.. Review by Henning Høholt.

PISA: LA TRAVIATA by Giuseppe Verdi was premiered in Pisa, Italy, Teatro Verdi, 2012 november 16th, presenting Irina Dubrovskaja as Violetta Valéry, Stefano Lacolla as Alfredo Germont and Stefano Antonucci as his father Giorgio Germont. Kenneth Greve’s Snow Queen culminates Finnish National Ballet’s anniversary

HELSINKI: The Finnish National Ballet’s 90th anniversary year culminates on 23 November 2012 when the Artistic Director of the Ballet Kenneth Greve presents the premiere of his new choreography, The Snow Queen; a work for the whole family based on the fairy tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen.

BERLIN: Divas are not what they used to be… one of the very few singers nowadays who can define herself like a ‘Diva’, Anna Netrebko is very down to Earth and on stage she’s very communicative and builds a good relationship with the audience. She doesn’t seem to create a myth of herself, and this is better to day, moreover being very popular she can gain more audience to opera world. Review by Bruno Tredicine.

FLORENCE: Gustav Mahler wrote his monumental Symphony nr 2 in C minor “Resurrection” in the years between the 1880s and 1890s, more or less at the same time of his First Symphony. For the first time in this kind of works, he uses the human voice, Review from Firence by Fabio Bardelli.

OSLO: Thorbjørn Egner er kjent av mange norske barn, deres foreldre og besteforeldre. I år er det hundre år siden han ble født, og jubileet er markert gjennom hele året. I jubileumsåret er mange av bøkene gitt ut om igjen og mange sider ved den allsidige kunstneren er trukket frem. Et av de siste bidragene er en flott kunstbok fra Cappelen Damm. PARIS: The world famouse musichall in Paris FOLIES BERGERE, where “all” the most famouse names in the musichall and cabaret world has been entertaining was on auction at Drouot Auction house Thursday November 8th. – That will say, it was not all the house, but it was some of its 50 Years of history from 1919-1970 which was auctioned away.
