VILNIUS: The Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra presents violinist and conductor from Belgium Michael Guttman
. He has earned critical acclaim fromNew York Times for his “incredible wealth of tone colours and his sound of melting beauty“, and was described by Jerusalem Post as the “Chagall of violinists“. At age ten, the child prodigy Michael became the youngest student ever to be admitted into the Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music, later continued his education at the Juilliard School in New York. He has performed in halls such as London’s Barbican Centre, New York’s Avery Fisher Hall, Paris’ Salle Pleyel, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Tokyo’s Bunko Kaikan, collaborated with renowned performers, composers and orchestras, patronised young musicians.

The concert programme features works by romanticists Mendelssohn and Paganini, composers active at the turn of the 19th–20th century, as well as music by the illustrious French songwriter and singer Ch. Aznavour
. Majority of arrangements programmed on tonight’s concert were made by Guttman.
