Marko Letonja return to the Vienna State Opera in several productions

VIENNA:   After a magnificent performance at the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Marko Letonja, Music Director of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, Orchestre National Organization (PAHO), is again invited by the famous Viennese institution for future productions.

The Slovenian conductor, head of PAHO since September 1, 2012, made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in January by conducting Tchaikovsky’s The Lady Pique in a production staged by Vera Nemirova

. Where the three main characters were interpreted by Grace Bumbry, Hasmik Papian and American tenor Neil Schicoff.

Marko Letonja will return to the Wiener Staatsoper, in the From the 2013-2014 season, where he will lead a recovery The Lady Pique and a new production of Offenbach Tales of Hoffmann.

In February, Marko Letonja will fly to Australia, specifically for the State of Tasmania
. Several concerts are scheduled with the
 Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, where Letonja is also the artistic director since January 2012.

He will then return to Europe in March and April to conduct Puccini’s Tosca at the Stuttgart Opera.

The end of the season in Strasbourg Marko Letonja will be in the head of the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra, at four concerts to be held on 16, 17, 23 and 24 May
. Works by Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky will be included in the program.
