The LAPO presented an interesting program during their two days visit to Salle Pleyel in Paris. The first evening presenting Johan Adams Oratorio in two acts: “The Gospel According to the Other Mary”. Text by Peter Sellars with 6 soloists, choire 3 dancers, staged by Peter Sellars. The world premiere was in Los Angeles 31

Claude Vivier (1948-1983) Zipangu (1980).
Folloved by one of the French impressionistic highlights: Claude Debussy (1862-1918) La Mer, symphonic scetshes. (1903-1905).
After the break Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971): The Firebird (version 1910), dedicated to Andrei Rimski-Korsakov. Which had its world premiere at the Opera de Paris, June 25th 1910. The Firebird, French title L’oiseau de feu (Russian: Жар-птица, Zhar-ptitsa) is a ballet and orchestral concert work by the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky. It was written for the 1910 Paris season of Sergei Hiaghilev´s Ballets Russes company, with choreography by Michel Fokine.
Both La Mer and The Firebird became extraordinary events, and the audience loved the energhy and all the different details in the two works
