La Monnaie’s Parsifal by Romeo Castellucci in Bologna

BOLOGNA/BRUSSELS: Starting tomorrow, the Teatro Communale di Bologna will present our production of Parsifal by Romeo Castellucci, exactly 100 years after the Italian première of Wagners opera in this very theatre

. The role of Amfortas is sung by Detlef Roth, Gabor Bretz will interpret Gurnemanz and the Swedish mezzo-soprano Anna Larsson will sing Kundry, like she did at la Monnaie in 2011.

This extraordinary production by Romeo Castellucci was much appreciated by the press and public at la Monnaie in January 2011:

Romeo Castellucci will return to la Monnaie in June 2014 for a new production of Glucks Orphée et Eurydice in the revised version by Berlioz.
