Kristian Benedikt made his debut as an opera soloist at the Lithuanian National Opera in 1994. The three following years he sang 20 roles including Cassio in Otello, Barinkay in Gipsy Baron, Tony in Westside story, Alfredo in La Traviata, Kastytis in Jūratė ir Kastytis at Lithuania National Opera, Kaunas Music Theatre, St. Petersburg Opera, De Nederlandse Opera (Amsterdam).
In 2004 his international breakthrough came at Nederlandse Opera (DNO) with R. Chailly in G. Verdi’s Don Carlos. Highlights following this were in 2005 debut at Mariinsky theatre as Don José in Carmen and Canio in Pagliacci in 2006 at Estonia Nationa Opera, Tallinn.
From 2007 to 2009 he has been a regular guest with most of the Operas in the Baltic Countries and Finland in roles such as Hoffmann in Les contes d’Hoffmann, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut, The Duke in Rigoletto, Manrico in Trovatore, Alfredo in La Traviata,Tito and Don Ottavio in Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito and Don Giovanni.
His work in 2008 also included a successful concert tour in USA.
Mr. Benedikt’s 2009/10 season includes debut in four roles as Andrea ChenierDes Grieux (J. Massenet’s Manon), Corrado (A.Ponchielli’s I Lituani), and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly.
In 2010/11 he successfully performed Eleazar in Halevy’s La Juive, the title role in Otello, Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana, and Calaf inG. Puccini Turandot (in Russian, Baltics and Danish Opera houses). The Otello role Mr

On July/August 2011 he will sing Don José in at the Opera på Skäret festival in Sweden.
Furthermore in 2011/12 Mr. Benedikt has plans to sing Edgardo in Lucia de Lammermoor (G. Donizetti), Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut (G.Puccini), Siegmund in Die Walküre (R. Wagner), Werther title role (J. Massenet) and other roles, such as Don José, Eleazar, Othello, Manrico, etc
. that he has lately sung at opera houses of various cities.
He has also taken part in several oratorio performances such as Th. Dubois The 7Last Words of Christ, G. Rossini’s Stabat Mater and G. Verdi’s Requiem.
Mr. Benedikt has sung under the baton of several famous conductors including M. Viotti, R. Chailly, and P. Domingo.
He has also made several opera recording on CD and DVD.
