HAMAR: The Kirsten Flagstad Festival at Hamar has its last arrangements today, ending up with the Galla Concert at Domkirkeodden at 04PM. Where “Innlandets Philharmonic Orchestra” conducted by Olaf Henzold has its debut, with a lot of high class international and national soloists.
Saturday was an other busy day at Hamar, Ivar Kleives magnifique Requiem with the composer him self at the organ, and introducing Ingebjørg Kosmo, mezzosoprano and Trond Halstein Moe, baryton as soloists, large mixed choire with Oslo Bach Choire as the center, all conducted by Ragnar Rasmussen, home for this special occassion from Seoul.
Ivar Kleives wonderful Requiem was a fantastic experience for the audience, full of emotions, power, honesty, sensitivity, the one beautiful theme after the other.
Ivar Kleive had chosen the two best soloists as it is possible to get, Ingebjørg Kosmo, mezzo soprano and Trond Halstein Moe, baritone, who managed the large demanding solo parts in this Requiem.
Oslo Bach Choire 51 singers, did an excellent job. This was an extraordinary evening that will be remembered by audiences for long.
It would be wrong of me to try to describe each of the 12 movements. Although I have written the script for this. Ivar Kleive Requiem has to be experienced live. I hope many have the opportunity for this.
