Surprise after the premiere of “Christmas Oratorio I-VI”: After the curtain had fallen, artistic director and chief choreographer John Neumeier announced two promotions. The Ukrainian Alexander Trusch, since 2007 member of the company and since 2010 a soloist, will become principal dancer from January 2014
. John Neumeier also promoted soloist Spanish Aleix Martinez, who has been an ensemble member of the company since 2010

In his address to the company, John Neumeier thanked all dancers for their dedicated work during the last few weeks. During the creation of “Christmas Oratorio I-VI”, two dancers stood out

Because of their constant power and their particular development and dedication, I would like to announce their promotion”, John Neumeier explained his decision”.
