AGEN: The city of Agen organises The Grand Pruneau Show, a music, gourmet and family festival since 2005, completely free for 3 days
. The 8th edition will take place from August 31st to September 2nd, 2012.

PRUNE, - PRUNEAUX

Free tasting of prunes:
The B. I

. P. (Inter-professional office of the prune) will animate the Place des Laitiers during the 3 days, offering tasting, distributions of plums but also cooking demonstrations. Personalities of the Pruneau Show will share with the Cook Show their secrets to realise good recipes based on featured products of the region (Agen’s prunes, Marmande’s tomato, blond beef of Aquitaine, Charlotte strawberry of Lot-etgaronne…), all under the eye of cameras that broadcast demonstrations on a giant screen and animated by Vincent Poussart.
This is an annual average of nearly 10 tons of plums which are distributed free to the attendees.
The food market:
The food market will bring its lot of flavours in the Cornières street, with about thirty exhibitors. Restaurateurs will propose menus based on prunes.

PLUMS

This popular festival seems destined to a sustainable future which corresponds to a growing interest of the public towards the values of territorial identity and specificity. A study was conducted and the public was: 65% of the Aquitaine region, 3 different generations, group participation and 1/3 of renewal of the public. This year again we’ll question our public on his practices. This manifestation is a place of meetings and exchanges which offer a large possibility of choices (musical, culinary, sports, theatre…). It’s a cultural player in its own right but also economic and social development.
The Grand Pruneau Show is now part of our political culture and tourism as a highlight of association of all the actors of the local economy for a large radiation.

During the entire event, the Grand Pruneau Show offers a free entrance concert every evening, welcome over 10.000 spectators, a 300 m² stage installed on a heritage setting, City Hall Square. The 2012’s edition will be in the same way as other years, with an
established and actual artist, this year NOLWENN LEROY

Nolwenn Leroy

on Friday evening, an artistic group or artist on the rise on Saturday, followed by an after DJ,
and a heritage of French song artist on Sunday at the end of the afternoon.
