Beethoven with Orchestra of the Age of Enlightment with Vladimir Jurowski

Ludvig van Beethoven
Vladimir Jurowski
was conducting The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightment in a Ludwig van Beethoven programme including his Coriolian Ouverture and two Symphonies, number 4 and 7. It was a pleasure to listen to such a cultivated and elegant performance with good energy, beautiful details in all the groups, not to forget the pauke. I had the feeling that in their way of playing Beethoven we were coming closer to the original Beethoven sound, if anybody to day can know how that sounded.
The orchestra has a young energy, which suites the orchestra very well. They are well prepared. Have done a good rehearsing work. This was beautiful. Only one time i Had the feeling that the first violin group was a bit to small, as it was difficult for them to compete with the entire orchestra in keeping the leading melody.
