Hilde Haraldsen Sveen is presenting a new CD with famous and les famous romances by Edvard Grieg. The recording is made in Edvard Griegs home Troldhaugen in Bergen, and on the old Steinway Model B from 1892 Signe Bakke is brilliantly taking care of the accompagnement. - “Millom Rosor” - “Among Roses”.

It has been a very good CD presenting first the five songs opus 26 to poems by Johan Paulsen, followed by Opus 39 with some of the very highlights on this CD From Monte Pincio and Hidden Love. Both of them I find at the very highest quality. Hilde Haraldsen Sveens voice is beautiful, brilliant high clear tunes full of wonderfl feeling and understandable text, giving her self enough time to let the tunes sing and grow. From Peer Gynt Opus 23 the two songs that Solveig is singing, and ending up with Opus 48 Six songs in german language. Signe Bakke is getting the old Steinway to sound great, it has a beautiful deepnes, and brilliant high tunes, and as some of these songs has been played and composed at this grand piano it is being very close to the originals and to Edvard Grieg. One of the very best Grieg Romance CDs I have enjoyed.
